Why I started bodybuilding? Growing up I was one of the smallest kids in the class, hence the easiest to pick on, leaving me with no passion for life…always afraid of what life experiences may be waiting for me… wondering if I was good enough.
I kind of fell into weight lifting, hearing my Uncle every morning at 6 am picking up and putting down weights, I started off wondering, then watching and then doing! Before I knew it I was hooked, feeling the great release of Seratonin, all of a sudden walking taller and with my head held high and eventually achieving the confidence that I was able to take on the world, no matter what obstacles would be thrown my way.
My passion for life was then re-created! I was able to leave all the pain in the “steele”. I competed almost 20 years ago and with great success became Mr Tampa. Once that was completed I took a break from bodybuilding to grow my family; having a handsome son and a beautiful little girl, but never taking a break from the gym, the gym was my release and gave me the capabilities of dealing with all of life’s situations!
Now almost 20 years later, I have made the decision to see just how far I can take bodybuilding, and with great reception from both judges and fans in the audience I have succeeded to qualify for Nationals (in the Canadian arena) in just a year and a half. In August of 2012 I stepped on the National stage with some of the biggest looking guys I have seen in a long time! I am proud to say that I was able to hang with and be in the top 5 of the nation!
In 2013, I attempted my Pro Card again, this year it was in Halifax! I left no stone unturned I put everything that I had within me to my training and dieting, I was very fortunate and truly blessed that all of my hard work had finally paid off, I was awarded my ProCard. With a strong belief and an iron will, I have proven that anything is possible!
